Privacy, the short version.
The only personal data this site touches is the email address you give the waitlist. It's used to send build announcements and beta invites, plus occasional updates and discount codes if you tick the box asking for those. Nothing else. This page carries no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and every asset on it (fonts included) is served from this domain. The mails record which links get clicked, and nothing about whether you opened them.
Who's responsible
Dayside is made by Chris Radoux, United Kingdom, who is the data controller for this site. If you have any question about your data, mail [email protected] and a person will answer. A postal address is available on request.
What's collected, and why
When you join the waitlist we store your email address, the timestamps of your signup and confirmation, whether you ticked the box asking for updates and discount codes, and which links you click in the mails we send. That's the whole record. It exists so we can send you build announcements, offer you a beta slot, and, only if you ticked that box, send the occasional update or discount code. That is what the form says it's for and all it will ever be used for.
The legal basis is consent: you typed your address in, and nothing is sent until you confirm it. Signing up sends you one confirmation mail; if you never click it, you're never subscribed and the unconfirmed address is not used.
The box is never ticked for you, and leaving it alone costs you nothing: build announcements and beta invites arrive either way. If you change your mind in either direction, say so at [email protected] and it will be changed, and the unsubscribe link in every mail stops all of it at once.
What the mails do
Links in the mails pass through track.dayside.studio on their way to wherever they're going. That records the link, the time, and which subscriber followed it, and it exists so we can tell which build notes were worth writing. Nothing in a mail depends on those links: everything they point at is reachable from dayside.studio directly, so you can always go the long way round.
There is no open tracking. Most newsletters embed an invisible image that reports back when the mail is opened, and reading one of ours leaves no trace at all. Unsubscribing stops the click records along with everything else, and if you want the ones already held deleted, say so at [email protected].
Where it lives
- Buttondown runs the mailing list and stores the addresses and the click records. It's a US service; the transfer is covered by its data processing agreement and the UK international data transfer provisions.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and passes your signup from the form to Buttondown. It does not keep the address.
Nobody else gets it. The list is never sold, rented, swapped, or used to advertise anything but Dayside.
How long it's kept
Until you unsubscribe or the early-access programme ends, whichever comes first. Every mail includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. If you'd rather have the record deleted outright, say so at [email protected] and it will be.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you (one email address, two timestamps, one yes or no, and a list of links you followed), have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw consent at any time. If you think something's been handled badly, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though mailing [email protected] first will almost certainly be faster.
When Dayside goes on sale
Purchases will run through a merchant of record, which handles payment details under its own terms; card numbers never come anywhere near this site. This page will be updated before sales open.
Changes
If this policy changes in any way that matters, the list hears about it before it takes effect.
